Movable Alphabet (Lower Case)

This is a classic Montessori material often used for teaching writing, reading and spelling. Its versatility makes it the perfect tool for common literacy activities such as beginning letter sounds, object matching, and storytelling. It encourages hands-on learning, empowering children to express themselves through “written” language well before mastering pen or pencil skills.

The Movable Alphabet includes 10 letters of each vowel and 5 letters of each consonant for a total of 155 letters. Montessori alphabets distinguish between vowels and consonants using blue and red colours, respectively. This helps young children internalize the differences between vowels and consonants.
